FPU Class Savings Breakdown

If you want check out this link to get a copy of my Savings Breakdown excel document. This sheet shows how you can track your savings on a per-account / per-category method by month.

In the case of this example there are four savings accounts:
6 Mo Bill Fund
House Escrow
General Savings
Vacation

If we look at the House Escrow Fund we would see several categories in the account this way we track the amounts for various items without the need for many accounts. For example in this account we save for Taxes, Home Insurance, Car Insurance, and others, even though the bank sees that account as one lump sum we can look at the account as if it is many small savings accounts.

This simple tool is a powerful tool!If you have a plan for your money it will do what you decide it should do, versus following some one else's plan!
